So soon enough festivities will be upon us and all that's left of our well intended September resolutions will take a back seat until the new year. It's inevitable.
As a personal trainer in AD for nearly 10 years now I see all too familiar patterns repeat year after year and they're not at all helpful when it comes to getting or staying in shape.
So here's 3 things that'll work as damage control in the run up to and during the holidays that are fast approaching.
- Start now! Getting on track in near impossible when there are brunches and celebrations around every corner so get on track NOW then you're far less likely to be derailed by an event you didn't want to go to anyway.
- Get into a habit of spending 20 to 45 mins everyday doing something physical even if it's only a walk. It's the habit that's important!
- There'll be enough indulgent foods at the celebrations that you're attending so don't fall for the super marketing tactics of the super markets. If you fill your cupboards with calories then you're a million times more likely to consume them. Instead have some healthy options ready for the morning after a late night. Stock up on veggies and fruits and take time out to cook and freeze some wholesome stews, curries and soups.
There you have it folks 3 very simple ways to help limit the damage that the upcoming holidays will do to your waist line.
More love, more fitness.
